About the Owner
Wail (Wally) Muwaswes, a third generation auto upholsterer of over 40 years, acquired Metzel Auto Upholstery in 1979 from Mr. Hal Metzel, who had been the owner and operator of the business since 1936. When Wally took over, the company expanded into a reputable auto upholstery shop in the heart of San Francisco. Wally dealt with major insurance companies as well as many substantial auto dealerships like MBZ, BMW, Honda and Royal Motors, in addition to all of the major body shops in San Francisco and along the Peninsula.
